ABOUT US
The Gun Lake Area Village Advisory Committee (GLAVAC) was created in November of 2004.  It held its first meeting in
January of 2005 with over 50 individuals volunteering to participate on the committee.  

Funding for the GLAVAC effort has come from contributions from over 150 local residents.  No funding came from any
business or the Gun Lake Protective Association.

GLAVAC members:
a.  Range in age from 35 to 73.
b.  Have owned property on Gun Lake ranging from 3 to 70 years.
c.  Are committed to improving their community.
d.  No member stands to gain financially from their work on this committee.

Three Sub-Committees were established within GLAVAC
1.  Boundary Committee.  Responsible for determining the optimum location of the boundary for future planning
purposes, and to establish the name of the village.
2.  Petition Committee.  Responsible for researching requirements for, and collection of, petition signatures.
3.  Community Relations.  Responsible for educating the public on the reasons for incorporating and being the
common point of contact for the entire committee.
